MuMETAL® Foil is used primarily in low intensity fields where the highest attenuation, highest initial permeability µ (Mu) and highest shielding efficiency are desired. MuMETAL® Foil is fully annealed and available in stock gauges from 0.002" to 0.010" thickness [0,05mm to 0,25mm].
Foils can be slit to a minimum width of 1/4" (6,35mm). Foil width tolerance is ±0.010" (0,25mm).
Unlike MuMETAL® Stress Annealed Sheet, our Foils do not require re-annealing unless severe forming or heliarc welding is performed.

MuMETAL® is our most widely known brand, yet Magnetic Shield Corporation offers several other alloys which are used for similar, but different applications. MuMETAL® Stress Annealed sheet is used primarily in low intensity fields where high attenuation is desired (high initial permeability & high shielding efficiency). Available as stress annealed (partially annealed for ease of machinability). MuMETAL® is used for fabricated shields such as enclosures, cylinders, cans, channels or 3D boxes. Typically, atmospherically controlled Perfection Annealing is required after stamping, machining, bending, rolling or welding to provide maximum shielding performance.

MuMETAL® alloy is used primarily in low intensity fields where high attenuation is desired (high initial permeability & high shielding efficiency). Our MuMETAL® Stress Annealed coil is available in deep draw quality for fabrication of deep drawn cans and enclosures. Typically, atmospherically controlled Perfection Annealing is required after stamping, deep drawing, machining, bending, rolling or welding to provide maximum shielding performance.
MuMETAL® Coil supply is stocked in gauges from 0.014" to 0.025" thickness [0,36mm to 0,64mm] and 12” wide. Coil can be slit to your width and a minimum width of 1/4" (6,35mm).

MuMETAL® Round Bar is primarily used for machined or forged components like current sensors, high precision current transformer cores, ground fault circuit breaker (relay parts), or any other application requiring high permeability soft magnetic alloy, with a low coercive field and low losses, in the range from 0-100 kHz. Typically, atmospherically controlled Perfection Annealing is required after machining, forming, forging, or welding to provide maximum shielding performance.
Our MuMETAL® Round Bar is stocked in diameters from 0.250" to 8.17" [6,35mm to 207,5mm]. Custom diameters and lengths are available upon request.

We offer a wide range of 5-sided magnetic shielding MuMETAL® Cans stamped or formed in either ROUND or RECTANGULAR shapes, and deep-drawn up to a 3:1 depth ratio when necessary. Our standard stock range and custom sizes are available in thicknesses from 0.014’’ to 0.062’’ [0,36mm to 1,57mm thick] and made from various MuMETAL®, Co-NETIC® or NETIC® shielding alloys depending on your exact shielding requirements.
